Welcome to Bergen
A story of
Two good friends
It all began with a conversation between two childhood friends, the guitarist Tino and the businessman Jan Olav. Their collective vision was to establish the most prominent guitar festival in Europe. It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the Tino Andersen International Guitar Festival.
What to expect
Our festival is a gathering of classical guitar enthusiasts, where we celebrate the timeless artistry of our beloved instrument. Join us in the charming town of Åsane, Bergen, for a festival that embraces the joy of music and the camaraderie of fellow guitar lovers.
The festival and competition are named after a local guitar teacher – Tino Andersen. Tino has been teaching and nurturing young talent in Bergen for over 30 years. His students have been winning national competitions year on year, in that time. This festival and competition is an opportunity to promote the youth and next generation of guitarists to hit the global classical music scene.
But our festival isn't just about the music. It's a time to connect, make new friends and meet like-minded music lovers and guitar enthusiasts. Join in on social activities like quizzes, volleyball, and ping pong, as we create a warm and inclusive atmosphere for all, in the beautiful setting of the fjords around Bergen and Åsane – all during the long summer nights of Norway.
